Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd.
Tokyo Innovation Center
Won the 24th Nikkei New Office Award (2011)
2011 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of Nissui. Since its founding, the company has continued its business under the basic philosophy of "contributing to the society while continuing to create value."
The Tokyo Innovation Center was built with the objective of consolidating research and development organizations that were previously dispersed in various places, in order to fortify the company's research and development (R&D) capabilities.
We ensured that the office and the laboratory were in close proximity, and encourage communication through "visualization." We placed a "fish table," a symbol of communication, in the staircase-shaped large, open interior.
The color coordination is based on white and comprised of the corporate colors of red, sea blue and green.
For approximately a year and a half before construction commenced we assisted Nissui with surveys and analyses, the basic design and the execution design.
