Okamura Corporation
Among Okamura Corporation's production facilities, the Oppama Plant can be considered the "mother plant" for seating/chairs. In an effort to answer the question "What is the ideal form for the working environment of the engineers of the future," office renovation was carried out to create a model office for Okamura's production sites.
In an effort to further increase operation efficiency through engineer work-style reform, in the work areas, environments to facilitate concentration were established based on work content, and spaces enabling immediate information sharing within the department were established throughout.
To serve as places for the discovery of new links with other departments, storage areas promote information sharing by being set up in a way that makes the shared documents and material samples of each department visible.
In addition, at the communication lounge in the center of the office, there are "refresh functions" and "touchdown seating." In the flow lines within the lounge, places were also provided for mock-up storage and discussion, and communication across department boundaries was promoted by intentionally establishing spots where peoples' paths cross.
